Beans? Huh? Anyways, I really like Ninja Scroll, Samurai X, Cowboy Bebop, Zatoichi the Blind Swordsman, and the Seven Samurai. All of them were great movies. I've seen a few trailers on Jubei Chan and Jubei Chan 2, but i haven't seen the real show. I'm looking forward to buying the DVD and watching it. As for RuroKen and Champloo, my favorite Champloo episode is definately episode 15, the episode where Jin finds counterfeit money at the bottom of a pond. It's just the funniest episode ever. My favorite RuroKen volume probably isn't one volume, but rather a series of volumes, namely the Shishio series. Can't wait for volume 20 though.

I have a dumb question... Maybe someone can answer it. Who is the man-slayer at the end of the second Samurai X movie (the one they get to replace kenshin)? I've wondered about it for awhile and have had a couple ideas.

Bleach is pretty neat I actually have been following it's fantranslation of the latest Jump releases, but when I think about Samurai, I tend to think out Sengoku Jidai (Roughly, "Warring States Period" Inuyasha takes place during it) or Edo (After Japan is unified under the Tokugawa Shogunite, Samurai Deeper Kyo takes place during it) and not a weird, Feudal Japan after life thing going.
Though, that's not to say there aren't a lot of interesting Samurai/Japanese stories in other eras, they just happen to be my favorite eras. For example, there was a movie I liked that took place in the Heian Era, Onmyoji, though that's more of a mythical/ghost story type deal than Samurai drama. I think Gojoe (Pronounced Go-jo-eh, not Go Joe! :P) takes place earlier in Japanese history, too. Though, Gojoe, like most really good Samurai movies I've seen, most of you twitchy action fans might not be used to the pacing of it.
To be clear, Samurai does not mean "Japanese dude with a sword", it's a very strict social caste. Kenshin, for example, wasn't ever a Samurai.

Yea, Kenshin's a rurouni/hitokiri. But then again, Samurai doesn't exactly refer to the governmental/social type of Japanese swordsman, but rather refers to those with expertise in swords and live their lives practicing the art of the swords, so i think its pretty safe to call Kenshin a samurai. For example, some Ronin are called samurai, but they dont have any ties with the government.

Well, Kenshin's title was Battousai, which is a varient of Kensai.
Kensai is, roughly, Swordsaint. Battou is sword drawing, so he was a "Sword-drawing Saint" so to speak. Hitokiri is comprised of "Person" and "Cut" I'll let you do the math on that one.
But yeah, I've also heard that there were Ronin that truly weren't Samurai to begin with, but wanderers who somehow got a sword. I'm not totally sure about the Japanese caste system, but I know they could be pretty strict about it and that it absolutely SUCKED to be an Eta.

Yeah that's what I've generally felt. There were times, though, where I've thought it coulda been Jin-eh (the guy kenshin fights towards the begginning of the series), or just someone we don't really know about.

Jin'eh was a former member of the Shinsengumi, he was on the opposite side.

Yes but he was also at one time a hitokiri, but maybe I'm just getting it confused on that point.
